Opal Mann Green Engagement and Scholarship Award

In 2013, the Center was honored with the Opal Mann Green Engagement and Scholarship Award, which recognizes the contributions of the center and its partners to supporting safe, healthy, and productive families and communities and to generating societally relevant scholarship.

Spotlight on Dr. Pennell

The center's Founding Director and NC State Professor Emerita Dr. Joan Pennell has been recognized for her work in various ways through the years. In 2011, she was featured in a “Meet the Researchers” video series.

In the spring of 2015, Dr. Pennell was featured in the NC State Alumni Magazine, where she discussed the center's work across disciplines and agencies and attention to emerging family issues, such as sexual orientation and gender identity in adolescents.
